For twenty two
years the dice of Oshwal Education Trust
has moved across the city of Jamnagar
and has come up with Sixes. From a fledgling it has
emerged into a Monolith, in the area of academics.
On 14'" March 1986, A Charitable Trust
"The Oshwal Education Trust" took
up the great task of setting up an English Medium
Institution in orderto provide quality education to
the students of Jamnagar.
Jamnagar, then ,was a small progressive
town and a business hub, but lacking in educational
institutions.The feelings of many concerned parents of Jamnagar
about the dearth of educational facilities and the
urgent need of the people to bridge the demand and
supply mismatch for an English educational centre.
Shri Lakhamshi Govindji Haria was
quick to respond and declared a donation of
Rupees Eleven lacs, this eleven lacs has
today metamorphosed into a full fledged Higher
Secondary School catering to the needs of nearly 2200
students from L.K.G. to Higher Secondary.
It all began on 4lh December 1981, when the Kindergarten
School was inaugurated by the Mahant of Anandabava
Ashram, Shri Deviprasad Maharajji at A.K. Doshi Mahila
College. Then, the plot where the present school is
housed was acquired and in June 1986 the construction
for the school building started and 440 students enrolled
themselves. Twenty Eight years down the line the school
stands proudly as a phantom of education and discipline.
Once again coming to the rescue of the people of Jamnagar
and realizing the demand for men and women with specialized
knowledge and recognized qualification, The
Oshwal Education Trust took up the challenge
and established Shri Gosar Hansraj Gosrani
College and Shri Dharamshi Devraj Nagda -B.B.A College
in June 1998. There was no stopping, as in
2002 the AICTE approved MBA
programme under Shri Jaysukhlal Vadhar Institute of
Management Studies was flagged off.
Keeping in view the needs of the modern generation
the Trust started Smt. Chandramaniben Zaverchand
Meghji Gosrani -B.C.A College in 2003.Then
in 2006 was launched the PGDCA course
,and in 2004 Shri Zaverchand Mulchand Shah
P.T.C College, along with hostel facilities for boys
and girls with started. The latest being
Shri Keshavji Bharmal Sumaria M.C.A College.
Thus, The Oshwal Education Trust
has branched into various areas of learning, offering
an array of U.G and P.G Degrees that provide opportunity
to discover and develop a variety of skills and interests.
The society owes a lot to the Trust and its magnanimous
Donors.
